Mike formerly worked for Bender Consulting Services and Computer Sciences Corporation on the Traffic Flow Management-Modernization contract for the Federal Aviation Administration. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a Masters of Information Technology from Virginia Tech. He was also appointed by the Governor of Tennessee to serve on the State Rehabilitation Council which provides support and guidance to the State Vocational Rehabilitation program. Mike has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and resides in Knoxville, Tennessee with his wife Sam.

Samantha (Sam) Moreno received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services Counseling – Rehabilitation Counseling from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and is currently a student at the University of Tennessee working on a Masters of Rehabilitation Counseling. Sam volunteers at the Disability Resource Center assisting individuals with disabilities maintain independence and currently resides in Knoxville with her husband, Mike. She was Ms. Wheelchair Oklahoma 2010 and is the current State Coordinator of Ms. Wheelchair Tennessee.
